Top Ten Beer Spots in the Colorado Springs Area

Our list of the Top 10 Beer Spots in the Colorado Springs area has been updated. We posted the Top 10 places to drink/buy beer last year and thought it would be a good time to update the list since a lot of changes have happened in the last six months since our last top 10 post.

We decided not added any new spots to this list, but in the upcoming months, we will visit new spots and revisit old spots so we can make another updated list at the end of the year. Let us know what you think of our ranking and if you agree that these are the best places to drink beer in Colorado Springs. If you have further suggestions, please let us know.

  1. The nice thing about having my son attend college down in the Springs starting this fall is that I will have plenty of opportunities to explore all of these beer spots over the next 4 to 5 years. Thanks for the list!

  2. What, how did Trinity get to the top? Or was it there last time?

  4. If it were my list I would swap Kinfolks and Phantom. The only reason we ever go to Phantom is for their food, but usually, if we want beer and food we go to Trinity or Front Range. Or even BJ's. The beer at Phantom is better now than before, but I still think their standard lineup is mediocre at best. Kinfolks, on the other hand, is awesome! Solid tap list, reasonable prices, live music, welcoming atmosphere, kid-friendly, etc. We love Kinfolks! As for the next generation of this list, I hear nosh is about to become a great place to drink beer... I also think Jack Quinn's might deserve a place on this list... It's not a mind-blowing tap list, but there are several good choices and it's a fun place to drink and eat! And they pioneered pub runs in this town.

    1. GS wasn't open when we made the list and we haven't added any new places to the list, and we won't until November when we do some comprehensive postings on each place (like we did last time). -eric

  6. Thanks for the input and recommendations, Amanda. It's funny because Eric and I actually talked about our plans to check out Nosh and Jack Quinns for the next ranking at the end of the year. I can almost guarantee there will be some new faces in the rankings next time around!

As for Kinfolks being ranked higher, you made some good points. We will definitely make it out to Kinfolks more before the next ranking. The two main things that probably put Kinfolks lower on the list compared to Phantom is location and lack of food.

It's a great time to be in Colorado Springs right now as a beer drinker. 5 years ago it would have been really difficult to make a top ten list. Currently there are some great beer places that don't even make the list! Competition is a healthy force that I hope will make this beer community even stronger.

I would love to see other people's top ten lists. Post them. It's a fun challenge!
